Acupuncture treatment for insomnia (Case one)

Miss Zhang has got insomnia for 15 years. She urinates once every hour at night and has syndromes of headache, dizziness, fatigue and weakness, halitosis, anorexia, aching of the shoulder and back, dull face and without colour, dull expressions of eyes, thin, taut and fast pulse, white tongue fur, thin tongue. She suffered a rheumatic cardiopathy. And the positive reactions appeared on the ear acupoints of Shenmen(TF4), Kidney(CO10), Liver(CO12), Heart(CO15), Occiput(AT3), Shoulder(SF4,5),etc. Trace the reason we can find that she cared the new environment too much when she moved to a new place 15 years ago. The visceras heart and spleen are hurt and caused the impairment of yin blood. And then mental derangement and poor appetite came. Deficiency of the source of qi, blood and body fluid caused deficiency of qi and the blood and she was ill at ease. Acupuncture Taiyang and Anmian could cure headache, insomnia, dizziness, palpitation and tranquilize the nerves. Acupuncture Shenmen could calm the mind. Ear acupoints detecting treatment of the cervical vertebral syndrome

The cervical vertebral syndrome is caused due to long-term sprain, osseous hyperplasia, protrusions of inter'vertebral disc and thickening of ligament that compress the cervical spinal cord, nerve roots and blood circulation. The clinical manifestations are pain in the head, neck, shoulder, arm and chest. This disease is associate the obstructive syndrome in TCM. It is usually caused by invasion of pathogenic wind, cold and dampness into the meridians, blocking the flow of qi and the blood; or by asthenia of the liver and kidney, Also the insufficiency of qi and blood of the elderly will lead to malnutrition of the tendons; or by impairment of the tendons and vessels due to long term strain.

She was diagnosed as follows: weak pulse, red tongue, white tongue fur, positive reactions appeared on the ear acupoints. With the X-ray illumination, she was diagnosed as cervical vertebral syndrome. After two courses of treatment, she recovered. 
Mr. Guo, who is 27 years old, complained that he has pain in the neck and back for more than one year. He also has headache, dizziness, insomnia, numbness in the hands. Acupuncture treatment for insomnia (Case Two)

A young male, about 20, has got the syndromes of insomnia, easily tired, urinated frequently, constipation, headache, seminal emission, listlessness and poor eyelids. Positive reactions appeared on the ear acupoints of Kidney (CO10), Heart (CO15), Acciput (AT3), etc. After the first treatment of acupuncture, he could sleep 6 hours at night. The poor eyelips were improved when he had the second treatment. Acupuncture treatment for Lumbago

There are various causes of lumbago. TCM holds that lumbago is mainly caused by retention of pathological wind, cold and dampness in the meridians, or by malnutrition of the meridians and tendons due to kidney asthenia; or by inhibited flow of qi and blood in the meridians due to over strain and impairment. 
Miss Yuan, who is 22 years old, suffered from lumbago and poor eyelids. Western medicine and X-ray illumination of checking proved her to be healthy. But she suffered from hardness when she goes to work. Lumbago appeared when she's having her period. She couldn't go to work without taking pain-killer pills. Mr. Lin, who is 35 years old, complained he'd suffered from Lumbago and would be easily tired, experienced insomnia, etc. He was diagnosed as follows: pale complexion, poor eyelids, thin tongue, feeble pulse, positive reactions appeared on the ear acupoints of Buttocks (AH7), Spleen (CO13), Shenmen (TF4), etc. After two courses of treatment, he recovered and was told not to have sex too much.

Acupuncture treatment for nasitis

Nasitis is usually caused by wind climatic factor. It has the syndromes of nasal obstruction and milk discharge, congestive and atrophic membrane of nose. If it's not treated in time, infection will come frequently, and the bacteria on the membrane of nose will invade. Thus nasosinusitis appears with syndromes of oppressing sensation at the root of nose, pain in the forehead, profuse nasal thick discharge, fetid ordor, hyposmia, halitosis, etc. Allergy of nose is one kind of nasitis and it is caused by external factors. The air of Hong Kong usually is not clean. Often it could cause nasal mucus and sneezing which could develop to nasitis. 
Xu Zehan, who is 6 years old, moved from suburb to urban. He often catches a cold and has a fever. Thus nasal mucus came and caused infection of upper respiratory tract. He had treatments which proved to be useless. Once he went to school, he had to bring as many handkerchiefs as he could, and this affected his studies. His mother Mrs. Xu was so upset that she sent her son to our hospital for a try. Little Han was weak and had syndromes of nasitis. After acupuncture treatment and body improvement, he was getting better and the effect was quite obvious that even experts were surprised. Acupuncture treatment for Bromhidrosis

Bromhidrosis is due to the fumigation of damp heat. The acupoints of Liver and Heart Meridians are usually used for treatment. Acupuncture treatment for functional headache

Functional headache could be divided into front headache, back headache and migraine. According to the theory of Chinese medicine, the head is the place where Sanyang of hand and foot meridians join together. Qi and blood of five zang, six fu organs transport up to the head. Exogenous or endogenous pathogenic factors would cause the disharmony between qi and the blood, blood stasis in collaterals and finally lead to a headache. Acupuncture treatment for acne

Though acne is common phenomenon during puberty, it could embody the accumulation of damp-heat in the body, impeded circulation of qi and the blood, poor appetite, constipation, the disharmony of yin and yang. And it could due to irregular life, eating too much spicy food and smoking or drinking.
Acupuncture and Moxibustion could cure acne effectively because it could motivate the positive factor in the body, assist the vital-qi and regulate endocrine, balance our nutrients, expel the inflammation and detoxification, etc.     
Miss Lin, who is 25 years old, suffered from acne on the face, forehead and back for 5 years. She had syndromes of itching, pain, constipation, fast pulse, red tongue, white tongue fur, heat and pain in the face. This is accumulation of heat in the DU Meridian and Large Intestine of Hand Yangming Meridian. Acupuncture treatment for constipation and halitosis

Constipation could be divided into sthenia and asthenia syndrome. And sthenia syndrome could be divided into two kinds: Constipation of the heat and qi. The syndromes of the first kind are: halitosis, red urination, and acne on the face. The syndromes of the latter are: feeling of fullness and discomfort in the chest and hypochondrium, abdominal distension and loss of appetite. Asthenia syndrome could be divided into deficiency of qi or blood. The syndromes of the first one are: pale complexion, mental fatigue, etc. The syndromes of the latter one are: pale complexion, dizziness from time to time, insomnia and black eyelids. Treatment should be made according to syndrome differentiation. 
Miss Deng, 26 years old, constipation for a year, felt hot in the body from time to time, got cold temperature of hands and arms, felt irritable and restless, got halitosis, etc. Positive reactions on the ear acupoints of Large Intestine (CO7), Cardia (CO3), Endocrine (CO18), etc. After treatments of body acupuncture and ear acupuncture, she recovered.


Acupuncture treatment for skin allergies

Urticaria is a cutaneous disease caused by internal accumulation of damp heat complicated by invasion of pathogenic wind that is stagnated in the skin. It may be caused by allergy. Its eruption is marked by various sizes of macules, which are in the size of pockmarks or soybean, protruding on the skin, occasionally emerging and disappearing. It is quite itching and appears in patches after being scratched. Treatment of acupuncture could achieve special curative effect. 
Miss Lao, who is 27 years old, suffered from this disease since eight years old,
especially in winter and summer or air-conditioned places. She accepted the treatment

Acupuncture treatment for diseases caused by cafard

Miss Jin, who is 22 years old, university student. She suffered from asthma, neurasthenia due to mental pressure such as heavy assignments, insomnia, skin allergy and acne. She had seen the doctor and had taken kinds of medicine, but it's useless. When she turned to us for help, we diagnosed as follow: Positive reactions on the ear acupoints of Shenmen(TF4), Kidney(CO10), Liver(CO12), Lung(CO14), Endocrine(CO18),etc; dull face, acne and cafard which were abnormal. It's caused by depression of the hepatic qi, breakdown of the coordination syndrome differentiation. We first regulate the irregular of endocrine and balance yin and yang. We have selected Neiguan, Shenmen, and Taiyang, add Zusanli and Sanyinjiao as body acupuncture treatment. We also used pills pressing on ear acupoints in addition. It could calm the mind, assist the vital-qi and enhance the body. After a course of treatment (10 times), Miss Jin recovered and went on her further studies.

Told by a patient who suffered from loss of hair

I'd found that a small piece of loss hair in February 1987. but I paid no attention to it. A month later, loss of hair became serious and I could found hair on the pillows when I waked up everyday. Once I combed my hair, loss of them appeared and the range enlarged, even at the top of my head began to lose hair. I was so frightened that I went to see a Western medicine doctor. He diagnosed this as alopecia areata, which is called Guititou in China. (See Fig. A) He told me that the source of this disease had not been found and with no special medicine could control it. I had better take more rest and let it alone. I had not seen a doctor until early 1988. During these days, my hair was continuing to fall. I'd taken some medicine of growing hair, but they were useless. By then, I had only the rest 1/3 hair. And my eyebrows were falling off too. I happened to know that acupuncture could cure my disease and I went to Yaxian Acupuncture Hospital for a try. Doctor Yu diagnosed and told me that the endocrine of my five-zang organs was irregular due to the hard working and poor rest. After a course of treatment (10 times, twice a week), My hair stopped falling off and even grew some (See Fig.B). During the second courseof treatment, new hair grew everywhere on my head. After finishing it, about 3/5 areas of my head were covered with new hair. During the third course of treatment, about 9/10 areas of my head were covered with new hair. Common knowledge of medicine
Medical model of ear acupoint diagnosis
There will be positive reactions on the corresponding auricle areas when human body is under any poor condition. Judging from this, you can diagnose the diseases.
Common clinical diagnosis of ear acupoints is as follow:
Inspection of auricle: 
Observe the auricle from every direction under the natural light and check if there is anything unusual. Make the clinical diagnosis through it in addiction to the patient's symptoms.
Detect of aching points:
Use CLRH-A Earpoints Probe and check the auricle in turn. Once the positive reaction point is found, analyze with zang-fu theory that is on behalf of sensitive points and the corresponding areas of anatomy and psychology.
Diagnosis with electricity:
Use CLRH-A Earpoints Probe and check the resistance of the skin on the auricle. The positive reaction point will be taken as reference for the diagnosis and treatment.
Electro-acupuncture
It is a kind of therapy by which the needle is attached to a trace pulse current after it is inserted to the selected acupoint for the purpose of producing synthetic effect of electric and needling stimulation.
Scope of application:
Generally speaking, it can be used to treat any disease within the indication of acupuncture, especially pain syndromes, obstructive syndromes, flaccidity syndromes. It can also be used for acupuncture anaesthesia.
Laser injection of acupoints: 
Use beam of laser and illuminate acupoints on the basis of Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. It's also called laser acupuncture.
Scope of application:
Laser injection of acupoints has a good effect of dredging the channels and relieving inflammation to stop pain. Common use for obesity, numbness of facial nerve, hieropyra, panaris, pelada, eczema, pernio, migraine, headache, nasosinusitis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, gastric and duodenal ulcer, hypertension, chronic enteritis, pain of nerves, etc.
Paste pills on the ear-acupoints:
Paste magnetic pills on the corresponding acupoints in order to stimulate them and cure the disease. It has a good effect of wide range of diseases and it's a convenient treatment without pain and danger. Also it's widely used.
Scope of application: 
A wide range of diseases such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, eczema, chronic eczema, leukoderma, cutaneous pruritus, wart, rubella, lichen psoriasis, pseudomyopia, stye, taraxis, etc. And it's good for health care and delayed oldness.

History of Ear Acupoints Treatment
Ear acupoints treatment is an important part of Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion. It diagnoses, prevents and cures diseases and keep health care by means of auricle. If there is something wrong in the body, there will be reaction points on the auricle and the stimulation could be offered to the points in order to cure diseases.
Ancient medical experts had accumulated a lot of experiences about the relationship between ear-acupoints and the whole body. 2500 years ago, Canon of Medicine recorded more than 30 examples of ear acupoints applications for curing diseases. Chinese ancient books first recorded more than 10 ear acupoints and declared that auricle's belonging to five organs. Picture of auricle was also depicted. (See Fig.1) Afterwards, P.Nogier from France spent 6 years on ear acupoints research, and declared that there's corresponding relationship between the auricle and the whole body. He had found 42 ear acupoints by 1957 and published the systematic figure of ear acupoints. It was brought into China in 1958 and was developed from 42 to more than 200. Now there are over 90 countries and regions using Ear acupoints Treatment due to the wide spread of it during 30 years. In order to meet the international exchange need, WHO appointed China as producer of draft for the International Standard of Ear Acupoints Plan in 1982. The Ear Acupoints Corporation Team is formally set up. Through clinical research over these years, 91 ear acupoints are approved world wide. The Ear-acupoints treatment consisted of many kinds such as Ear Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Laser treatment, Photo-electron treatment etc.
